How do I purchase mice?

Is a licensing required?
Licensing is required for bio-pharma companies for breeding and use of off-shelf genetically modified mice. Please inquire for details.
How many mice are included with licensing?
The licensing will include shipment of 3-5 pairs of mice. Please inquire for details.
What are the ages of the mice shipped?
We normally ship mice at 8-12 weeks of age.
How do you ship the live mice?
We ship using an international SPF overnight delivery service such as World Courier.
Where are the mice shipped from?
The mice are shipped from our facility in Shanghai that are operated under strict AAALAC, SPF and IACUC guidelines.
What if some of the mice die during shipment?
We always account for possible loss of mice during shipment and include extra mice in your order.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship internationally to most countries. Please inquire for specific countries.

What is the cost of shipping live mice?
It costs $3000 per package (50 female mice per package) to ship mice internationally to most countries.

Can I purchase mouse without licensing?
Yes. You can purchase mice without licensing. The price will include female mice only and does not include shipping cost. Please inquire for details.
What does “sperm cryopreservation” in the status of mice mean?
Mouse models under sperm cryopreservation have sperms frozen from F0 mice of the model. Recovery of the mice and confirmation for germline transmission is an estimated 2-3 months in addition to regular processing time.
What does the term “embryo cryopreserved” in the status indicate?
This term indicates the cryopreservation of embryos from F1 germline transmitted mice. The estimated shipping time for live mice re-derived from the embryos is 2-3 months in addition to regular processing time.
What is the lead time from ordering to shipping mice?
It takes 4 weeks for processing paperwork and shipping the mice. Please account for the lead time when planning your studies.
I cannot accept live mice in my facility. Can you ship as embryos?
Yes. We can ship the embryos of the mouse models to you in liquid nitrogen (LN2) tanks. The shipment for embryos is $4000. The shipping company will also be responsible for picking up the empty LN2 tanks.
What are the animal welfare accreditations and animal health status for your organization?
The mouse models are engineered, bred and housed in facilities that adhere strictly to the guidelines of the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International, Specific Pathogen Free (SPF), and the Institutional animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) regulations which supervises and approves of all animal care and use plans and activities.
Do you provide extra pathogen testing in addition to that provided under the SPF reports?
Yes. We can test for extra pathogens as a custom fee-for-service. Please inquire for details.
